SUV Crashes into Motorhome on Highway 140 in Mariposa

MARIPOSA, Calif., (July 15, 2026) — A head-on collision involving an SUV and a motorhome resulted in major injuries on State Route 140 in Mariposa early Wednesday morning, the CHP reports.

The incident was reported on July 15th at approximately 8:08 a.m. in the vicinity of 4932-4959 SR-140, where an SUV allegedly crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 33-foot Class A motorhome. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the collision as a major injury incident shortly after units arrived at the scene.

Emergency responders, including CAL FIRE, were dispatched at 8:10 a.m. and provided critical assistance on-site. The injured party was airlifted to a nearby medical facility for further treatment, highlighting the severity of the injuries sustained.

The roadway was temporarily closed to allow for emergency response and investigation, with a tow service en route to clear the vehicles involved. The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and is seeking additional witnesses to aid in their ongoing investigation.
