Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at Burdett Way in Parkway

Victim Dragged by Suspect Vehicle to Prentiss Drive, Hull Way

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (July 22, 2026) — A pedestrian was struck and killed early Wednesday in Parkway at Burdett Way and Houston Way in a crash involving a hit-and-run driver who dragged the victim for several blocks to Prentiss Drive in Sacramento County.

The horrific incident was discovered on July 22nd around 12:48 a.m. at 6600 Prentiss Drive in Parkway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities are now searching for the suspect who was driving a white sedan, possibly a 2016-2018 Nissan Altima, the CHP’s South Sacramento division said. Detectives working on the case believe the sedan was traveling northbound on Burdett Way and struck the victim as they made a left turn onto Houston Way.

However, police found skid marks and blood starting at Burdett Drive to where the pedestrian’s body was found, roughly a half mile away at Prentiss Drive and Hull Way, police said.

CHP officials were working on the case overnight and cleared the scene around 4 a.m.
