SAN DIEGO, Calif., (July 28, 2026) — A major injury traffic collision happened Tuesday between a white Hyundai sedan and a motorcycle rider on the westbound State Route 54 just east of Interstate 5 in San Diego.
The incident occurred around 8:23 AM on July 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol. Preliminary reports indicate that the white sedan reportedly swerved across lanes to exit and collided with the motorcycle. The sedan continued without stopping, taking the Highland exit.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the collision was reported. The motorcyclist, who was initially launched from the motorcycle due to the impact, was found standing on the right shoulder. The extent of the motorcyclist’s injuries is currently categorized as major.
