4-Vehicle Crash on Pomona 60 Freeway, Mountain Avenue in Ontario

Crash Blocks HOV Lane on Eastbound SR-60 in Ontario, Minor Injury Reported

ONTARIO, Calif. (Aug. 6, 2026) — One person was injured in a four-vehicle crash in Ontario on eastbound State Route 60 near Mountain Avenue Thursday morning, blocking the HOV and No. 1 lanes.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the minor injury collision was reported on August 6th shortly before 8:50 a.m. on the eastbound SR-60 west of Mountain Avenue. Initial CHP reports indicated that four white vehicles were involved in the crash, with one vehicle emitting smoke and at least one person outside of their vehicle following the collision.

Dispatch logs later clarified that three of the vehicles were directly involved in the collision, including a white Kia K5 and a white Chevrolet pickup truck, which came to rest in the center divider. The crash blocked the HOV and left lane, while two other vehicles remained on the right shoulder.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, and one person was transported to Kaiser Permanente Ontario Medical Center with minor injuries.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles, with CHP coordinating access from Central Avenue due to the location of the wreckage. One disabled Kia remained on the right shoulder while awaiting a heavy-duty tow.

By approximately 9:41 a.m., CHP reported that all lanes had reopened and traffic was flowing normally.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
