Head-on Crash Highway 43, Nevada Avenue in Corcoran, Kings County

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (Aug. 10, 2026) — A head-on collision involving two vehicles early Monday morning on Highway 43 near Nevada Avenue prompted an emergency response and blocked traffic lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 5:33 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, on SR-43 just north of Nevada Avenue. The CHP incident log indicates that a gray Toyota Camry and a white sedan were involved in the collision, with both vehicles leaving the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel were requested at the scene. One male occupant was reportedly unable to tell responders what type of vehicle he was in, and initial information indicated that there was only one occupant in the vehicles at that time.
By about 6:02 a.m., CHP reported that fire crews were on scene and lanes were blocked. One of the vehicles sustained major front-end damage, while the other was described as a Honda Accord.
Both vehicles were later requested for towing, and CHP indicated that at least one vehicle would be held as evidence as the investigation continued.
Authorities also reported that debris had initially been scattered on the roadway but was subsequently moved.
The circumstances leading to the head-on collision, including whether anyone was seriously injured, were not immediately available. The CHP and local authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the crash.
