Major Injury Collision on State Route 202, Near Sierra Vista Drive
TEHACHAPI, Calif., (August 12, 2026) — Two people were injured in a crash involving two vehicles resulted in significant injuries on Valley Boulevard/State Route 202 near Sierra Vista Drive.
The incident occurred on Aug. 11th at approximately 1:21 p.m. in the Tehachapi area, just east of the stated location. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved a black Volkswagen GTI sedan and a black Chevrolet Suburban SUV. Both vehicles sustained considerable damage in the collision.
Emergency responders were on the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Two individuals were transported by Hall Ambulance Service to Kern Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. Specific details regarding the identities and conditions of the victims have not been released at this time.
The collision resulted in superficial damage to a nearby Edison power pole, located on the north side of the roadway. There are no reports of traffic blockage at the site, and the incident was initially categorized as a traffic collision with major injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the accident and has requested that any potential witnesses come forward to aid in the investigation.
