Major Injury Traffic Collision on SR99, Tulare

VISALIA, Calif. (August 14, 2026) — A semi-truck and a gray Tesla were involved in a crash Friday in Tulare on Highway 99 South near Avenue 184, resulting in major injuries.

The two-vehicle collision occurred on August 14th at approximately 7:37 a.m. when the semi-truck carrying two trailers reportedly overturned onto its driver’s side. The gray Tesla involved in the collision was found underneath the semi-truck. Both vehicles came to rest in a field adjacent to the roadway.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after the accident was reported. At least one person was seriously injured and hospitalized, but there are no further details.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) updated the status of the incident to a major injury collision at 10:10 a.m. Prime Towing was called to assist with vehicle recovery as traffic congestion extended back to Bardsley.

The identities of the individuals involved have not been released, and the extent of the injuries remains under investigation. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the collision and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
