Motorcyclist Injured in Car Accident on Garden Grove 22 Freeway

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (Sept. 2, 2026) — A multi-vehicle collision caused traffic delays Wednesday morning on the Garden Grove 22 Freeway near Valley View Street in Orange County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported on Sept. 2nd at approximately 6:43 a.m. on the westbound 22 Freeway in Garden Grove, the report said.

Initial CHP information indicated a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was involved in a collision with a gray Honda Civic. Moments later, CHP reported that additional vehicles were involved.

According to the incident log, four vehicles were involved, including an older-model Toyota RAV4, a Ford Bronco, a Ninja motorcycle and another vehicle. The crash resulted in multiple lanes being blocked, and CHP reported that parties involved were outside their vehicles.

Paramedics responded due to minor injuries reported for the motorcycle rider. Also, a tow truck was requested to remove at least one disabled vehicle. CHP also reported a vehicle blocking the slow lane during the response.

The incident was closed by CHP at approximately 7:14 a.m. The circumstances leading to the crash and the extent of injuries were not immediately available.

Drivers traveling westbound on the 22 Freeway through the Valley View area were advised to expect delays while emergency crews and tow operators cleared the scene.
