Major Injury Traffic Collision on SR-60 West Near Grand Avenue

DIAMOND BAR, Calif., (Sept. 27, 2026) — A major injury accident involving a motorcycle rider and a sedan occurred Sunday afternoon on the Pomona 60 Freeway West near Grand Avenue in Diamond Bar.

The incident was first reported by the California Highway Patrol at approximately 1:52 p.m. on Sept. 27th, involving a silver Nissan Altima and the motorcyclist in the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane. Emergency services faced challenges accessing the scene due to traffic congestion, necessitating the opening of lanes to facilitate fire engine access.

At 2:02 p.m., traffic lanes on the freeway were being opened to allow emergency medical services to reach the injured parties. The CHP upgraded the incident to a major injury collision at 3:55 p.m. as more information became available.

Although specific details about the motorcyclist or the driver of the Nissan Altima remain undisclosed, the motorcyclist reportedly sustained significant injuries and was taken to a hospital.
