Man Riding Bicycle Killed in Homeland Accident at Leon Road, Neer Street

HOMELAND, Calif., (Sept. 28, 2026) — Juan Holguin, 45, died Saturday night in a bicycle accident involving a hit-and-run driver on Leon Road near Neer Street in Homeland.

The incident occurred on Sept. 26th at approximately 7:40 p.m., when a vehicle reportedly struck a bicyclist at the intersection of Leon Road just south of Queen Palm Drive, according to the Riverside Sheriff’s Office. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The Homeland man was transported to University Riverside Health by paramedics. Despite efforts by medical personnel, the bicyclist succumbed to their injuries at 11:28 p.m. the same day.

Initial reports indicate the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene, classifying the incident as a hit-and-run. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect vehicle or driver to come forward as the investigation is ongoing.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Temecula station and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. They are currently seeking any witnesses who may have seen the collision or have information that could aid in identifying the suspect vehicle.
