Fatal Bicycle Accident on Stockton Blvd and Mack Rd in South Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, Calif., (November 2, 2026) — A fatal bicycle accident involving a pickup truck occurred Monday at Stockton Boulevard and Mack Road in the Florin area of South Sacramento.
The tragic collision occurred on Nov. 2nd around 5:36 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident took place in the northbound lanes on Stockton Boulevard, just south of Mack Road, the report said.
Emergency responders, including Sacramento Fire Department Unit 11, promptly arrived at the scene. Initial reports indicate that the pickup truck driver was making a right turn from Mack Road onto Northbound Stockton Boulevard when the bicyclist was hit on the right side of the truck.
The driver pulled over into a parking lot and, with the help of a bystander, pulled the victim from the roadway. The male cyclist was transported to Kaiser South Medical Center with major injuries but unfortunately died at the hospital.
Authorities are still in the process of identifying the victim and notifying next of kin. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The Sacramento Police Department is leading the investigation into this incident and is urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident to come forward. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
