Big Rig Collides With Vehicle
FRESNO (December 18, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a big rig was involved in a collision with a vehicle this morning at the intersection of American and Maple avenues.
At roughly 11:24 a.m., CHP officials responded to the crash site where one person had sustained injuries indicated to have most likely been the driver of the vehicle.
Paramedics were notified to be dispatched to the scene as the injured motorist was treated initially on scene before being transported via ambulance to a hospital.
Details in regards to the cause of the accident itself were not provided in the report as two tow truck were required via the assistance of TNT Towing and Falcon Towing.
Authorities remain present investigating as of 12:03 p.m. in an attempt to determine what exactly happened.

Pending the investigation, the company employing the big rig driver could be held liable for the collision. Authorities will examine photos that were taken of the scene as well as compiled evidence will help investigators determine the ultimate cause of the collision. Police officials will look into all potential factors including speed, the possible involvement of alcohol or drugs, or whether or not there were any mechanical issues with either vehicle. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by all vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of each vehicle, skid marks, and gouge marks.
