Girl, 17, Fatally Injured in Head-on Collision
BRENTWOOD (June 4, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a major injury collision involving a white Jeep and a tow-truck took place today on Vasco Road just south of Walnut Boulevard.
Authorities have confirmed the crash to have occurred at roughly 2:22 p.m.
According to an update provided by the SF Bay, a 20-year-old man driving the Jeep had been traveling northbound along Vasco Road when for unknown reasons he crossed over the double yellow lines directly into the tow-truck.
The Jeep flew off the road coming to rest in a grass field adjacent to the road before the vehicle quickly caught fire engulfing in flames.
A 17-year-old unidentified girl in the Jeep sustained major injuries for which she was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center. Shortly after her admittance into trauma she sadly died of her injuries and was pronounced dead at 3:37 p.m.
Man, 21, Suffers Broken Femur and Leg
A 21-year-old man sitting passenger in the Jeep who also was not identified suffered a broken leg and femur. He was flown to Eden Hospital and expected to survive.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old driver of the Jeep complained of minor injuries as did the tow-truck driver. There was no indication whether or not either party was taken to a hospital
At this time, California Highway Patrol officials do not believe there to have been the involvement of drugs or alcohol as the investigation remains ongoing.

Based on the information provided, the driver of the Jeep will be held liable for the collision which tragically left the young girl fatally injured, his passenger hospitalized, and any injuries suffered by the tow-truck driver after recklessly maneuvering his vehicle into oncoming traffic.
