Sonora Man, 48, Victim in Hit-and-Run
LOCATION: Sonora
DATE OF INCIDENT: Sunday, February 3rd
February 5, 2019- According to the Sonora Police Department, Brian Sanders, 48, has been identified as the man injured in an alleged hit-and-run collision Sunday morning.
Authorities were notified of the incident at roughly 8:30 a.m. taking place on Jackson Street near North Street.
Sonora officials have indicated that Sanders had allegedly been riding a bicycle before being struck by a passing vehicle whose driver failed to stop and proceeded to flee the scene.
The 48-year-old man suffered major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his status remains unclear as of Tuesday morning.
At this time, the suspect remains at-large, according to Fox 40 News.
Following the incident, a portion of Jackson Street remained closed off for several hours.
No further information has been provided as the Sonora Police Department continues to investigate and encourage anyone who may have information to come forward.
