Up to 6 Vehicles Involved in Collision Triggered by Big Rig
CORONA (July 25, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, an injurious collision involving up to six vehicles including a semi-truck was reported early this morning on the 91 west freeway near Green River Road.
According to reports, the accident transpired at roughly 6:14 a.m. when an alleged blue semi-truck triggered the wreck by slamming into the rear of a black GMC pick-up truck.
It appeared as though the GMC pickup was pushed into the vehicle up ahead leading to a domino effect series of collisions.
A gray Ford pickup truck, a black sedan, and two other vehicles were the four other cars allegedly involved.
CHP officials confirmed the driver of the GMC pickup suffered moderate neck and back injuries. The victim was transported eventually from the scene to a nearby medical facility.
The fire department was dispatched to the scene taking up the Nos. 4 and 5 lanes resulting in major traffic delays.
No information was provided in regards to whether or not any other motorists suffered injuries as authorities remained present at the scene for over three hours resulting in the closure of the Green River Road exit off-ramp.
