Car Collides Into Pedestrian and Fire Hydrant
DISCOVERY BAY (September 25, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian accident was reported this morning before noon at Wayfarer Court and Wayfarer Drive.
According to CHP officials, the driver of a silver Land Rover lost control and veered off the road hitting the victim and the hydrant at precisely 11:28 a.m.
Victim Taken to John Muir Med Center
Authorities attended the victim who had suffered moderate to serious injuries before being transported away via ambulance to John Muir Medical Center with an apparently broken hip.
Meanwhile, water shot out from the hydrant as the fire department was dispatched to the scene to provide a helping hand.
No further details have been shared at this time on the motorist involved and what caused the driver to lose control.
CHP officials remained at the scene as of 12:30 p.m.
