ESCONDIDO: Jonathan Rojas Hit-and-Run on Highway 78
ESCONDIDO, California (April 7, 2017) – Jonathan Rojas, 25, has been identified as the victim fatally struck following a suspected hit-and-run which took place on Highway 78 Friday night, according to UT San Diego.
The collision was reported about 9:45 p.m., west of Centre City Parkway.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol disclosed that Jonathan Rojas had been apparently walking along eastbound Highway 78 when he was allegedly struck by a vehicle headed east.
Jonathan Rojas was left lying near the center divider. He was pronounced dead before he could be transported to the hospital.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. The suspected car was described as a sedan that may be missing the driver’s side mirror and possibly sustained front-end damage.
