Simi Valley Crash Thursday Morning on Highway 118
SIMI VALLEY- A head-on collision was reported Thursday morning, April 20th, on Highway 118 just west of Rock Peak Road, per the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities responded to the accident which was logged at 6:13 a.m. involving up to three vehicles.
The report indicated that a loose tire bouncing along the Highway struck one of the vehicles, possibly a white Toyota Camry. The driver claimed that the tire struck their car causing the vehicle to barrel through the center divider from westbound lanes into eastbound lanes.
The Ventura County Fire Department was notified resulting in the closure of several lanes as a pole was also knocked down blocking the carpool and the No. 1 lane within eastbound lanes.
The report did not disclose how the two other vehicles became involved as at least one motorist was confirmed to have sustained moderate to serious injuries.
Caltrans was made known of the damage to the guardrail and the pole requiring them to show up at the scene to make necessary repairs.
No further details have been released at this time while California Highway Patrol continues their investigation.
