Deadly Wrong-Way Collision on I-15
DATE OF COLLISION: October 26th, 2018
November 1, 2018- According to CBS News San Diego, a deadly 2-car collision caused by a wrong-way driver left a young woman and a young man fatally injured last week on I-15.
Reports indicate that the accident occurred at precisely 11:17 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-15 near the Rainbow Valley Boulevard off-ramp.
Jessica Neumeyer, 20, Victim in Wrong-Way Crash
California Highway Patrol officials have come to the conclusion that 23-year-old Lake Elsinore man had been traveling the wrong way in a white Hyundai headed northbound in southbound lanes at a high rate of speed. He eventually struck a sedan driven by Jessica Neumeyer, 20, head-on.
The collision tragically left Neumeyer with fatal injuries as she was sadly pronounced at the scene upon the arrival of paramedics.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old man sustained grave injuries for which he was rushed to Palomar Hospital. He later died of his injuries and was pronounced dead at 4:51 a.m.
There is suspicion that the 23-year-old man may have been under the influence but has not been confirmed at this time while CHP-Temecula is the agency handling the investigation.
