Jimmy Hogges, 70, Victim in DUI Crash; 2 Others Badly Injured
DATE OF INCIDENT: Tuesday, June 5th
June 8, 2018– According to the Patch, a 70-year-old man identified as Jimmy Hogges, 70, of Novato, has tragically died of his injuries suffered from a crash caused by a drunk driver earlier this week at the intersection of Center Road and Wilson Avenue.
Novato police officials responded to the crash site at 11:00 p.m. between a Ford F-150 and a Jeep.
Authorities have determined that the driver of the Jeep identified as Taylor Brindley, 24, of Novato, failed to stop at a stop sign triggering a very serious collision with the Ford truck.
The driver of the Ford truck had been Jimmy Hogges. He incurred major internal trauma injuries and was subsequently rushed to the intensive care unit, where he sadly was pronounced dead shortly after being admitted.
Meanwhile, two passengers had also been occupants in the Ford. One passenger sustained a dislocated shoulder while the other suffered multiple broken ribs. Both victims were transported by ambulance to Marin General Hospital as their conditions are currently unknown as of Friday morning.
Taylor Brindley Arrested for DUI Crash
Following the wreck, police determined Brindley had been operating his vehicle under the influence and was subsequently arrested. He had been driving on a suspended license and remains jailed with a bail set at $50,000.
Names of the victims involved have not been provided at this time while all three remained hospitalized Wednesday morning.
