Teen Girls 18, and 15, Fatally Injured
DATE OF INCIDENT: Sunday, June 3rd
June 4, 2018- According to the Kern Golden Empire, tragedy struck Sunday night on the Grapevine on I-5 north leading to the deaths of two teen girls and injuries to two others.
According to the report, the crash occurred at 5:30 p.m. between a Jeep Wrangler and an undisclosed vehicle.
California Highway Patrol officials indicated that the driver of the second vehicle made a sudden lane change in front of the 2005 Jeep Wrangler carrying the four teenage girls. The driver of the Jeep, a 17-year-old girl, lost control as a result and veered off the road causing the vehicle to roll over coming to rest in an embankment.
The crash left two of the teen girls, 15 and 18, with fatal injuries as they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 17-year-old driver and another 18-year-old passenger were both injured and transported to hospitals.
No details were released or made available on the other driver involved who made the unsafe lane change cutting the Wrangler off.
At this time, CHP is investigating and do not believe there to be the involvement of drugs or alcohol.
