Lemoore Car Accident at Avenal Cutoff Road and Jackson
15-Car Head-on Crash in Lemoore on Jackson Avenue
LEMOORE (April 13, 2017)
According to the California Highway Patrol, up to 15 vehicles were involved in a head-on crash at or near where Avenal Cutoff Road and Jackson Avenue intersect Thursday afternoon.
At roughly 3:04 p.m., CHP received a call notifying them that a box truck, a Maroon Ford Expedition, and a black Hyundai were the three vehicles to trigger a domino effect type crash.
Kings County Sheriff officials arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation as CHP noted that a blue Jeep Compass as well as a white Toyota Prius were two of the other vehicles at rest on the right hand shoulder.
At least one other vehicle involved had children inside as fire department personnel and paramedics showed up due to their being numerous motorists complainging of pain following the wreck.
At least five injured victims were transported from the scene to a hospital for injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
At least four tow truck companies were contacted to help move undriveable vehicles off the road.
No information has been released at this time disclosing the sequence of events which occurred leading up to the collision.
