Leo Gorospe, 66, and Ida Gorospe, 55, Injured in Fresno County Accident
LOCATION: Fresno County
DATE OF INCIDENT: Saturday, May 5th
May 7, 2018- According to the Fresno Bee, two people were injured and another was killed following a 2-car collision on I-5 north Saturday afternoon.
The accident involved a 2017 Ford Mustang and a 2015 Winnebago motorhome taking place at roughly 3:40 p.m.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the driver of the Mustang only being ID’d as a 31-year-old man from College Station, Texas, attempted to pass the motorhome driven by Leo Gorospe, 55, of Livingston, Texas, by veering over to the shoulder.
The Mustang driver made contact with Gorospe’s motorhome causing both vehicles to spin out of control and drift off the side of the freeway down into a ravine adjacent to the freeway. The motorhome ultimately came to rest directly on top of the Mustang.
Both Leo Gorospe and his passenger Ida Gorospe, 55, suffered moderate undisclosed injuries for which they both were transported to Community Regional Medical Center for assessment. Both are expected to survive and recover.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford Mustang did not survive and was sadly pronounced at the scene.
At this time, CHP is currently investigating the collision and do not believe there to be any involvement of drugs or alcohol, however, more information is being collected and looked into.
No further details have been provided.

California Injury Car Accident Attorney
The Interstate 5 freeway has arguably been considered one of the most dangerous freeways and highways to drive on in California especially through the stretch as it passes through Fresno County with there being accidents that take place daily. As a driver, it is imperative to proceed with caution while being cognizant of your surroundings especially in the late evening or early stages of the morning where there may be drunk drivers present. JAG Founder James Johnson has handled several car accident cases over the last few years on Highway 41 throughout Fresno and Fresno County as he is very familiar with the Highway itself and its dangers.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, the injured victims not responsible for the collision, Leo Gorospe and Ida Gorospe, will likely have the right to a personal injury lawsuit against the reckless driver of the Mustang who caused the accident. The Gorospe’s may seek compensation for damages including medical expenses, lost future income, and pain and suffering.
