March 26- Riverside Wrong-Way Car Crash Accident on 215 Freeway; 3 Injured
RIVERSIDE, California (March 26, 2017) – Three were seriously injured, two in critical condition, after a wrong-way crash on the 215 Freeway early Sunday morning, according to NBC Los Angeles. (map)
The accident involving two vehicles took place about 1:30 a.m., north of Columbia Avenue.
As per the article, City of Riverside Fire Department said a silver sedan was going north in the southbound lanes of the freeway when it collided with another car.
The silver colored vehicle was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. Both sedans sustained major front-end damage upon impact.
KTLA wrote that two occupants in the car that was struck were extricated after being pinned inside. NBC Los Angeles reported that those who were initially trapped suffered critical injuries.
A total of three people, including the wrong-way motorist, were taken to the hospital for treatment. Their names have not been yet released.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
