Semi-Truck Barrels Into John Deer Tractor
PORTERVILLE (May 15, 2018)– According to the California Highway Patrol, an injurious collision between a tractor pulling a trailer and a semi-truck was reported Tuesday morning at Road 208 and Avenue 160.
CHP officials responded to the crash site which transpired at 4:20 a.m
Authorities have preliminarily disclosed that the driver of the semi-truck struck the tractor from the rear.
It remains unclear how badly the drivers were injured but there did appear to have been injuries suffered by the John Deere tractor who was eventually transported from the scene to a hospital.
The trailer appeared to have tipped over onto its side while the semi-truck which had been carrying a load of bins eventually tailed off the road and struck an almond tree resulting in the barrels falling off of the big rig.
An environmental service truck and a street sweeper truck were both called to the scene to assist in removing the debris and fluids from off the road.
No further details were provided in the dispatch log as officials remained present at the scene as of 9:00 a.m.
