Vehicle Struck From Behind by Big Rig, Overturns in Ripon
RIPON (March 30, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a rear-end collision involving a semi-truck was reported Friday morning on northbound Highway 99 at the Jack Tone Road on-ramp and Frontage Road.
Authorities were notified of the crash which occurred at roughly 10:234 a.m.
CHP reported that a big rig had allegedly struck a small sedan from behind causing the sedan to overturn and careen down onto 99 Frontage Road adjacent to Highway 99.
The crash occurred in the slow lane causing injuries to its driver who was given immediate medical care as the fire department and paramedics quickly arrived before rushing the victim to a hospital.
The victim’s condition and specific injuries were not listed in the report, however, they were believed to have been serious.
Following the collision, the semi-truck driver did remain at the scene and was questioned by CHP officials who remained present at the scene as of 11:00 a.m.
