Rogelio Arellano, 62, Killed in Chula Vista Hit-and-Run Sunday
LOCATION: Chula Vista, CA

(March 12, 2018)- According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a deadly hit-and-run pedestrian versus auto collision was reported Sunday evening at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Moss Street.
Chula Vista police officials responded to the collision which occurred at roughly 9:45 p.m.
Witnesses told authorities that the driver of a gray BMW struck the victim leaving the vehicle’s passenger rear view mirror at the scene also incurring major damage to the right bumper of the vehicle.
The victim was later identified as Rogelio Arellano, 62, of Chula Vista tragically suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead while in route to by ambulance to a hospital.
Per the article, the victim was confirmed to have lived on Moss Street in close proximity to where the incident took place.
The suspect, 28-year-old Guillermo Jimenez, turned himself in to police and admitted that he was driving the vehicle involved in the fatal crash. The Chula Vista man was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
