SAN JOSE: Fatal Pedestrian Accident Williams and Camellia
Man Killed Crossing Williams Road and Camellia
SAN JOSE (April 17, 2017)
According to KTVU News, a man suffered fatal injuries after being hit as a pedestrian crossing an intersection Friday morning.
At 10:58 a.m., an 88-year-old man was crossing the intersection of Williams Road and Camellia Way before being struck by a 2005 silver Pontiac.
The unidentified elderly man suffered fatal injuries after being rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead about 4 hours later.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Pontiac remained at the scene and was open for all questioning as he was determined to have not been under the influence.
Liability remains unclear at this time, however, it is likely the driver will be held accountable to at least a certain extent as pedestrians always have the right of way.
Per KTVU News, this incident marks the 15th traffic fatality of 2017 in the city of San Jose- 11 pedestrian and 4 auto.
