Deadly Accident on I-5 South Tuesday Afternoon
WOODLAND (December 18, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a deadly collision was reported this afternoon on I-5 south at or near the off-ramp to County Road 8.
CHP officials did not verify whether this was a solo or multi-vehicle collision after receiving notification of the accident at 12:31 p.m. precisely.
Upon authorities arrival to the scene, the dispatch report indicated that an undisclosed pickup truck had left the freeway veering into an adjacent field.
The fire department and paramedics were called in for assistance as it was then confirmed that at least one person inside the pickup truck had suffered fatal injuries.
Officials did not provide information on whether or not any other motorists were inside the pickup truck and if there were any additional injuries.
The major accident investigation team continued to remains present at the scene as of 2:00 p.m. gathering as much evidence as possible to help determine what happened and why.
