2-Vehicle Crash Leaves 3 Dead, 4 Injured
LANCASTER (Jan. 11, 2018)- Three people are dead and four were injured Thursday in a crash at Challenger Way and East Avenue J-8, according to a report by the Daily News.
The crash took place about 12:02 p.m. between a blue four-door vehicle and a silver-four-door sedan.
Police stated that as the silver sedan approached the intersection headed eastbound on Avenue J-8, its driver failed to stop for a red light triggering a collision with the blue vehicle traveling northbound on Challenger Way.
Following the wreck, the silver sedan overturned while the blue vehicle was completely mangled.
Three occupants were inside the blue sedan all who tragically sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims have been identified as Yovany Salazar, Rocio Salazar, and Virginia Salazar.
Meanwhile, four men were in the sedan all who suffered moderate to serious injuries. All four victims were transported to local area hospital.
Preliminary investigations have indicated that speed definitely played a role in this collision while the involvement of drugs or alcohol remains under investigation.
