Aaron Anaya, 24, Killed in San Jose Car Accident at Hostetter and Piedmont
SAN JOSE (November 7, 2018) – A passenger was killed after an alleged DUI crash in the area of Hostetter and Piedmont roads on Saturday, November 3, according to The Mercury News.
Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 24-year-old Aaron Joseph Anaya, of Los Gatos.
As per the article, police said Anaya was riding as a passenger in a 2006 Toyota Corolla when it drifted toward the curb and slammed into a tree.
Haley Wenger, 23, Arrested For DUI
The car ultimately spun out back toward the street upon impact. The accident was reported near the intersection of Hostetter and Piedmont roads shortly before 2 a.m.
Police affirmed that Anaya and the driver of the Corolla, 23-year-old Haley Marie Wenger, where both immediately transported to the hospital where Anaya later died.
Meanwhile, police believed that Wenger was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the collision occurred. The San Jose resident was then arrested on felony charges of manslaughter and DUI.
