Aaron Esala Killed in Littlerock Motorcycle Accident on Highway 138
LITTLEROCK (September 6, 2018) – Aaron Esala, 26, has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed Wednesday afternoon in a collision with an alleged DUI driver on Highway 138, according to The Antelope Valley Times.
The accident was reported at 4:18 p.m. on state route 138 near 72nd Street East.
Esala and another motorcyclist, James Seier, 28, of Port Hueneme, were both riding Harley Davidson motorcycles westbound on Highway 138 at the same time as Mickey Oden was driving his 2003 Nissan eastbound. Police say that Oden made a left-hand turn in front of the motorcycles, causing Esala to collided with the front of the car. Esala was thrown off the bike and into the roadway.
Seier was unable to avoid colliding with Esala’s motorcycle. His bike also went down. Paramedics responded and rushed Esala to a hospital, but he later died. Seier was treated for minor injuries including an abrasion to his right arm.
Police arrested Oden on felony drunk driving charges and he is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
