Deadly Crash on State Route 160 Near Antioch Bridge
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (May 31, 2022) – Aaron James Price, 38, of San Ramon, died in a car crash on State Route Highway 160 near Sherman Island Road and the Antioch Bridge in Isleton.
The deadly, head-on crash occurred about 10:17 p.m. on Sunday, May 29th, according to the California Highway Patrol. Three children, including a 15-year-old girl and two boys ages 6 and 4, suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Aaron Price was driving southbound in a Mazda with three children as passengers in his vehicle. He allegedly veered across double yellow lines into the path of a northbound Audi driven by a 70-year-old Rio Vista woman. The two vehicles collided head-on the northbound side of Highway 160, just north of the Antioch Bridge.
The Mazda reportedly overturned and then caught fire from the impact of the collision. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene of the crash in the Isleton area.
The two young boys and the teenage girl suffered serious injuries in the crash. A helicopter airlifted one of the boys to a hospital.
Sadly, paramedics confirmed the death of Aaron Price at the scene of the Isleton crash. The Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner identified the victim on its website.
Also, paramedics took the woman driving the Audi to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said where she is listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, CHP closed down Highway 160 in both directions to conduct an investigation into the cause of the crash and liability.
The cause of the fatal Sacramento County crash is still under investigation. Authorities have not confirmed if drugs and or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
