1 Dead After Trench Collapses at Construction Site
DALY CITY (August 1, 2018) – A construction accident took the life of 33-year-old Abel Sauceda of Modesto Friday morning on Martin Street, according to CBS News.
Sauceda was killed when a trench he was working in collapsed on top of him. Several Platinum Pipeline Inc. workers were grading a 12-foot deep trench to put in a 24-inch concrete drainpipe, according to the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health..
Paramedics responded to help the victim about 11:20 a.m., but sadly he died at the scene.
The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is heading up the investigation into the incident and will determine fault.
