Rosamond Man, 63, Identified as Victim of Pedestrian Accident
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 24, 2024) — Abelardo Hermitano Mendez Sosa, 63, of Rosamond, has been identified as the man who was struck and killed Sunday on Rosamond Boulevard in Bakersfield.
The deadly crash occurred at 3:31 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22nd, east of 50th Street West, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A woman driving a 2018 Ford Fusion sedan was heading east on Rosamond Boulevard when she struck the victim in the roadway.
The Lancaster woman stopped her vehicle and called 911 for help.
Paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim dead, but they were not identified.
Meanwhile, the driver cooperated with the investigation into what happened.
