Woman Struck, Killed on McKinley Avenue
FRESNO, Calif. (April 27, 2022) — Abelina Ortiz-De Garcia, 76, of Fresno, died in a pedestrian accident Wednesday on McKinley Avenue, just down the street from Fresno High School.
The deadly crash happened on East McKinley Avenue about 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27th, according to Fox 26 News.
A driver traveling westbound on McKinley Avenue struck the woman crossing the roadway. Police say the driver dragged the woman behind the vehicle after she was hit outside of a marked crosswalk. The motorist pulled over and stopped and is cooperating with investigators.
Authorities closed down the roadway between North Harrison Avenue and North Palm Avenue to investigate the crash.
Police do not suspect alcohol and or drugs were factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing to determine fault for the crash.
