Suspect Flees; Abeme Minuta ID’d as Victim Killed in Hit-and-run Crash
PASADENA, Calif. (May 27, 2018) — Abeme Minuta, 24, has been identified as the driver who was struck and killed in a violent hit-and-run crash on Sunday morning.
Police later arrested the suspected hit-and-run driver who crashed into Minuta’s vehicle in a at Colorado and Sierra Madre boulevards, according to a report by KTLA News.
The collision between two motorists was reported just after 2 a.m. Minuta, who was driving a black Honda Accord, was extricated by firefighters and died at the scene of the crash.
The suspect in the white SUV, described as a Hispanic man, fled the scene of the crash without stopping to help the victim. He was gone before police arrived.
Bystanders at the scene checked to make sure the suspect was okay and then they were distracted just before he took off.
Police immediately began piecing together evidence at the scene in an attempt to locate the suspect.

Fatal Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision to determine fault. At this time, police have arrested a suspect and they are piecing together what happened. Hopefully there are also witnesses who can help authorities figure out the sequence of events that led to the crash.
