2 Killed, 2 Injured in Fresno Crash at Barstow and Contessa
FRESNO, Calif. (April 26, 2022) — Abhishek Choudhary, 22, and Amit Amit, 25, of India, both died in a solo-vehicle crash at West Barstow and North Contessa avenues in Fresno.
A dark-colored Jeep occupied by four people reportedly crashed into a power pole. The deadly crash occurred about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23rd in northwest Fresno, according to the Fresno County Sheriff Coroner. The vehicle was traveling north on Barstow Avenue when for unknown reasons it went off the roadway and struck the pole, knocking out power in the area.
A total of four men were ejected in the crash and the Jeep ended up in the middle of the roadway with major damage.
Police officers located both Amit Amit and Abhishek Choudhary in a nearby dirt field. Sadly, they were both pronounced dead at the scene.
A third unidentified man from the Jeep was located in the area conscious and breathing. Paramedics transported him to a hospital, but his condition is unknown at this time. Meanwhile, police continue to look for a four man believed to be with the three men.
A search was conducted with help from a California Highway Patrol helicopter.
Investigators working on the case believe that alcohol and speed were factors.
