ACAMPO, California (April 7, 2016) — A motorcyclist suffered major injuries Thursday morning in a collision on the westbound Interstate 205 Freeway at the Interstate 5 Freeway connection, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 8:50 a.m. between the bike and a Toyota sedan on the Robert T. Monagan Freeway. The vehicles ended up in the center divider after the bike was struck in the No. 1 lane. An off-duty Alameda firefighters was at the scene and called for an air ambulance to fly the injured rider to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries suffered in the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by police to determine liability.
