Adalberto Chavezarias, 25, ID’d as Suspect in Petaluma DUI Crash
PETALUMA, CA (March 7, 2022) – Officers detained Adalberto Chavezarias after a DUI crash in Petaluma.
Police determined the 25-year-old Rohnert Park man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Saturday night.
The incident began when Adalberto Chavezarias was driving north on North McDowell Boulevard in Petaluma. He then slammed head-on into another vehicle going south at the time.
Police said the two cars crashed near Scott Street. The Press Democrat wrote that the accident happened on March 5 shortly after 10 p.m.
1 Badly Injured in Wreck
Firefighters arrived at the scene and found the other driver hurt as a result of the incident. The victim ended up suffering from moderate injuries due to the impact of the collision.
Paramedics took the patient to a hospital for further aid. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police arrested Adalberto Chavezarias on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury. They soon booked him into the Sonoma County Jail.
Officers forced a stretch of McDowell to shut down for a time following the wreck. The Petaluma crash is still under investigation.
