Vehicle Strikes Bicyclist on Vista Way Saturday
Oceanside, CA (August 17, 2021) – On August 14, Saturday, bicyclist Adam Atkinson suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run collision on Vista Way.
Preliminary investigation revealed Adam Atkinson got into an exchange of words with a driver about a mile from Vista Way. That driver apparently followed the cyclist, then allegedly intentionally hit Adam Atkinson from behind.

According to NBC San Diego, the force from the impact resulted in serious injuries to the bicyclist. Primary reports indicated the victim sustained serious injuries; including a broken pelvis, as well as his elbow, collar bone and shoulder blade. Responding paramedics rushed the man to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities later confirmed the four-door black BMW continued driving following the collision. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate several factors surrounding the bicycle accident in Oceanside.
