Adan Joe Vallesillos, 29, Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Highway 76 at Douglas Drive
DATE OF ACCIDENT: Saturday, December 15th
December 25, 2018 – The man killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 76 at Douglas Drive has been identified as 29-year-old Adan Joe Vallesillos.
The incident occurred on December 15, Saturday, around 9:55 p.m.
According to San Diego Union-Tribune, Vallesillos was in a marked crosswalk, but against a red light, when he was struck by a vehicle heading east at the crossing.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Oceanside, December 15
Preliminary investigation revealed an Oceanside police officer waiting to turn left at the intersection witnessed the incident and approached the scene to assist the pedestrian, later identified as Vallesillos. After assessing the victim, the officer pronounced him dead due to obvious fatal injuries. As per the article, the death of Vallesillos was attributed to blunt force injuries, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the driver stopped following the collision and cooperated with the police.
Liability in the deadly accident is still being determined.
