3-Vehicle Crash Lake Road and Yosemite Ave
MERCED, Calif. (May 25, 2021) – Adrian Calderon, 40, of Ceres, died in a collision Sunday night on Lake Road at Yosemite Avenue near UC Merced.
Calderon was traveling southbound on Lake Road in a 2001 Honda, but he crashed into the back of a 2014 Honda Accord.
Rita Ceja, 36, of Merced, was driving the Honda that got pushed into the back of a 2018 Dodge Durango. Melanie Graham of Carl Junction was behind the wheel of the Dodge.
The 3-vehicle collision happened about 8 p.m. on May 23rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Also, authorities are reviewing the details leading up to the fatal crash.
Adrian Calderon was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt. Paramedics transported him to Mercy Medical Center where he later died.. Meanwhile, Rita Ceja and a 40-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl in her vehicle suffered minor injuries. They were transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.
Police will determine fault for the crash.
