Fatal Rollover Car Accident on I-5 Freeway on Valentine’s Day
REDDING, Calif. (February 25, 2020) – Adrian Estrada, a 20-year-old soldier from Orange County, has been identified as the driver killed by a suspected drunk driver in Redding on Valentine’s Day.
His grieving family is now calling for justice on behalf of the young man and his memorial is planned in Seattle for Feb. 26.
Adrian Estrada, who recently joined the Army and was stationed in Washington state, was traveling home to Orange County and planning to surprise his family and girlfriend on Valentine’s Day.
Unfortunately, he got caught up in a collision with a suspected drunk driver and was killed in the crash.
Two others suffered injuries in the Feb. 14th collision on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
The suspect, Jecenia Hedrick, 22, was driving a 2013 Honda Civic southbound on the I-5 freeway when she allegedly crashed into the back of Adrian Estrada’s 2006 BMW sedan that was traveling on the same traffic lane. Upon impact, the BMW overturned multiple times on the freeway, just north of Lake Boulevard.
Police arrested Hedrick and have charged her with felony DUI and manslaughter.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
