AFTON: Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 15 Freeway in Barstow, April 6

LOCATION: Afton, Barstow

DATE OF ACCIDENT: Saturday, April 6th

April 7, 2019 – The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on the Interstate 15 Freeway Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 4:38 p.m., an unidentified person was struck by a white semi truck on the southbound side of the interstate in Afton. Authorities later described the big vehicle involved as an 18-wheeler truck.

Both the truck and the pedestrian ended up in the right-hand shoulder of the freeway following the collision.

Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Barstow Saturday

Responding medics reportedly rushed to the pedestrian, and performed CPR but the man sadly succumbed to his injuries sustained in the accident. Pending notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.

At this time, the precise circumstances that led to the deadly collision are still being investigated.
