AGOURA HILLS, California (April 28, 2017) — A driver and passenger were critically injured and a second passenger was killed early Friday morning in a solo crash on the westbound Ventura 101 Freeway, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The crash took place about 1:55 a.m. when a man driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck veered off the roadway and crashed into a metal guard rail on an embankment before hitting the Chesebro Road concrete overcrossing. All three occupants in the vehicle were men. One passenger died of his injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver and passenger who survived the crash were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The California Highway Patrol closed down the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes to conduct an investigation into the collision to determine whether any charges will be made.
