Tania Rivas, 44, Surrenders to Police and is Arrested
ANAHEIM, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2024) – Agustine Chavez Palacios, 84, of Anaheim, died in a hit-and-run crash on Labor Day Monday at Anaheim Boulevard and Cerritos Avenue.
On Wednesday, the driver, Tania Rivas, 44, of Anaheim, surrendered herself to the Anaheim Police Department and she was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 2nd, according to the Anaheim Police Dept.
The suspect was driving a 2020 GMC Acadia SUV and struck the pedestrian due to unknown circumstances. She failed to stop and help the victim and fled the scene. Meanwhile, the Anaheim man identified as Agustine Chavez Palacios died.
Witnesses are asked to call police at 714-765-1900.
