Pedestrian Badly Injured After Being Struck Wednesday Afternoon
LOCATION: Ahwahnee, Madera County
DATE OF COLLISION: Wednesday, August 29th
August 30, 2018- According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian accident was reported yesterday afternoon at or near the intersection of Highway 49 and Road 600 also referred to as Sunrise Way.
CHP officials were dispatched to the scene of the collision which transpired at 1:22 p.m.
Authorities had tentatively stated that a dark green colored Dodge Ram pickup truck had struck the unidentified pedestrian leaving the victim stuck underneath the vehicle.
The fire department and medical personnel responded to provide assistance to the victim who had suffered major injuries. The individual was eventually removed from under the truck and transported via ambulance to a local area hospital.
Details in regards to the cause of the incident and the series of events that took place leading up to it remain unclear at this time as California Highway Patrol handles the investigation.
