Aimee Garcia, 26, Fatal Victim in Traffic Collision on 101 Freeway Thursday
Encino, CA (August 13, 2021) – Aimee Garcia, a 26-year-old woman, died following a wrong-way car crash on 101n Freeway Thursday evening.
The ABC7 News reported Aimee Garcia was a passenger in a Lincoln SUV driven by her husband. Preliminary investigation revealed the Lincoln was heading north on the interstate. For an unknown reason, the driver allowed the SUV to veer into the opposite lanes.
Per article published online, the 2003 Lincoln Navigator ended up crashing head-on into a southbound big rig. The catastrophic incident took place just west of Haskell Avenue in Encino.
Emergency teams arrived at the site shortly after 7 p.m. First responders found Aimee Guadalupe Garcia trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters successfully extricated the woman, but paramedics sadly pronounced her dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, medical personnel rushed four children, all under the age of 9, to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Our sources indicated the driver, 31-year-old Cesar Iban Torres, allegedly tried to flee the scene. However, police managed to apprehend the man. Officers booked the suspect into Twin Towers Correctional Facility.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
