Woman Hospitalized After Collision Near North Livermore Avenue
Alameda County, CA (August 20, 2022) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate Highway 580 early Wednesday.
The KRON4 News reported two vehicles collided in the westbound side of the freeway just east of North Livermore Avenue. Per local news source, a Toyota Camry veered off the roadway for an unknown reason ended up crashing into a concrete wall.
After the incident, the driver of the Toyota stepped out of her car. While standing beside the disabled Toyota, an oncoming Nissan hit the wreckage. The accident left the woman pinned underneath the two vehicles.

Two California Highway Patrol officers responded to the incident and found the Toyota burning. Rescue teams worked extensively to pull out the woman trapped in the crash.
According to the article published online, an off-duty physicians assistant performed CPR to the victim. Paramedics later arrived and transported the injured woman to Eden Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
Authorities added the driver of the Nissan sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fiery accident that happened on Interstate Highway 580 in Alameda County.
